Asheville Squadron Projects and Programs

The Asheville Squadron is active in many ongoing programs. Activities may be cadet focused, senior member focused, or involve a combinations.

Many of our activities are focused on emergency services such as searching for downed aircraft, looking for lost hikers, taking aerial imagery after disasters, and distributing essential aid such as food and blankets.

Flying missions in mountainous areas requires specialized skills Annually, the Asheville Squadron hosts a school called Mountain Fury to teach pilots from across the East Coast to fly missions in mountainous terrain.

In addition to emergency services, the Asheville Squadron supports placing wreaths on graves of veterans through the Wreaths Across America program.
